OK, I've seen a lot of discussion on Glutamine Peptides, so what do Elite Fitness Members really think?

Yes-I throw a scoop in all my shakes

Sort of-They're good but plain Glutamine's cheaper and works just as well

No way-They're useless and taste like doo-doo anyway

I've heard some people say peptides are better, I personally don't know, but, personally, I just take L-glutamine...

YUM

the last protein i just got in was ISS Whey Matrix and it has the glutamine peptides in there. it was $26.95 for 5 lb. can and it tastes good to me.

Glutamine peptides are good but are over priced. All they do in my opinion is prevent some of the the soreness you get the following day. If you take a lot of L-glutamine it will do the same thing. Peptides are just absorbed a lot better so you need less.

this post is from 2002

somone actually bothered to go deep in the archives to bump it

and no it was not me :)

I hate to dig up old threads, but all I've read is that glutamine pretty much a bullshit supplement. So how is enerG exactly supposed to be any different than regular glutamine? And where is the science behind it? Where are the studies? I've seen no studies to support that glutamine peptides are effective. So please, somone, educate me.

PS this thread should be moved to the supps board.

It was hands down the best recovery supplement I ever used (Flavoured Ener-G), the most noticeable effects were when I took it right before cardio. I had to stop using unfortunatly, because I developed a terrible rash from it (allergic to wheat). Thumbs up for Ener-G, though!

Yes!
I am a natural athlete, and play basketball and do martial arts in addition to bodybuilding (body image comes a close second to athletic performance for me [particularly explosiveness and endurance]). Because of this, I wind up doing a shitload of "cardio" every single day, and putting on any muscle is a pain in the fucking ass (with no AAS, I mean). Ener-G shot my recovery through the fucking stratosphere, and I was actually able to get to 218 pounds this week (of course, my diet is spotless and my training is... painfull... but I know how my progress charts).

The use of peptide bonding is nothing new and you can find lots of research about it. It protects the glutamine from being obliterated by the digestion of it so it makes it into your bloodstream.

So there is research regarding the effectiveness of peptide bonded glutamine available? If so, do you have any on hand? I'd assume that since you're involved witht the selling of the product you'd have that stuff handy, right?

Re-read what I posted because I didn't say that.

I'd like you to go to any supplement store of your choice and go in and ask for the manager. Take him down the aisle and pick up any product you like. Hand it to him and tell him you want to see the clinical research on the product. Let me know how that works out for you.

Sorry, you'll have to look it up yourself.

I did read what you posted. I didn't want information about how peptide bonding makes products absorb better. I wanted info specifically about glutamine peptides.

I'm confused. What is your relation to the glutamine peptides that the AF store sells? Do you manufacture the product? Or merely sell it? There are folks affliliated the AF store touting this product. So I figured that the people spreading the word about this product might have clinical research available, since they are making claims about the quality of the product. I don't think it's really asking that much for published documentation about efficiency of glutamine peptides. That's all I'm asking for.

AF store sells the glutamine peptides. They do not manufacture them, just like most products sold in stores are not manufactured by those stores.

My body doesn't seem to hold on to Glutamine as well as others, maybe that's why I feel quite a difference when using L-glutamine

Nature B no reasearch available unless your talking about synthetic glutamine peptides

do a search
under the authors Stehle, and Furst if any glutamine would cause anabolism or an anticatabolic effect it would be them

peptide bound or the synthetic

EnerG is very likely an anomoly it works so well

that is just the way it is...

I also cannot dealve further into why it works so well its proprietary information

it has been a huge point of satifaction that so many have taken a chance with it and been so happy......

thanks for the input as well

i was on var and taking that stuff and i thought i was never going to stop gaining weight. its gross though. it wrecks my shakes

makes sense to me. peptide bond makes intestines unable to keep it for themselves and thus, it can be used by muscles (like actual glutamine from full protien sources where all the aminos are bonded) . very little l-glutamine is able to be used by ur muscles ... sounds good to me!
