Glutamine one of the biggest rip offs in the supplement industry?

I have been getting some word through the pipeline that Glutamine is one of the biggest rip offs in the supplement industry. Of the studies that have been performed, and the ones that the manufacturers hang their hats on...none of them were done through oral consumption of glutamine. They were all interveinous studies. It's been found that glutamine simply gets converted to glucose by the liver when taken orally. (even in 40g doses )

I have never taken exta glutamine so whats your take on this?

i agree

well, as w/ any other non-essential amino acid, I have heard from doctors that your body produces its OWN glutamine for use when it needs it. If you take in adequate protein, you will never run out of glutamine, therefore making the supplementation of it useless. I think the same can be said for arginine/NO2/all other arginine products for that matter.

please read the product explanation

they were written by HUCK finn a mod here

BUT!

if you go to ncbi and look up Stehle and collegues you will find that the peptides actually provide the benifits that glutamine was always suppossed to

plus please find peoples post who have used it

in particular here:

the proof is in the pudding as they say

sorry not trying to be a smarty pants :)

EnerG just works and I am happy about that

I don't benchmark a supplement based on praises in forums, unless those praises are backed by, and consistent with, scientific proof.

I know how strong the placebo effect is.

Again, I'm not saying that the peptides is a gimmick or not, but, I want to see some info backing it. Do you have a link to the Stehle and collegues stuff?
