GLA question

I was reading Fonz's post regarding GLA and ALA, and I think I remember him saying that Flax seed oil is a good source of GLA. I was reading my Mass Quantities label, and it had no mention of it. Since I am COMPLETELY ignorant as to GLA supplementation, is it still in there? If not, where can I obtain some? I just started taking ALA again at 600-900 mg/day, and the only side is the putrid smell of my urine. Corn said it tastes bad, too, but that's another thread. Thanks in advance.

The best is Borage Oil(23% GLA) and then Starflower
Oil(I think its 20% or so GLA)

What some people don't know is that the GLA will make
your skin VERY, VERY supple and soft. Most
womens skin-creams contain GLA due to this effect.
An we all know what some AAS do to your skin.
The GLA will also increase thermogenesis(like
Ephedrine) from the food you ingest.

Its the only fat I supplement with.
The rest I try to get from food.

FONZ...here's 2 more studies on GLA if you want to print them out or something for future references. 1 with GLA/ALA, and the other with just GLA.

I usually get around 600mg's GLA from my Evening Primrose Oil supplement. However, i may up the dosage by adding in a separate GLA supplement for the hell of it. Maybe borage oil....

Can't hurt anything.

BMJ

btw...I think i remeber asking you about the ALA-GLA cobo in the past...what took ya so damn long buddy...lol.

I have 2 computers. A lap-top w/ me and a desk-top in spain.
All my studies(Well, the large majority) were on my desk-top.
I just got them all via a Zip-drive. 500MGB of stuff.(In essence.
a LOT :) )

Fonz, I was reading up on the Borage oil, and kept seeing warnings regarding cancer. What's the deal with this?

Cancer? Not a chance. GLA is made from
EFA's. It prevents cancer.

Here's an example of what I was referring to. I may have been mistaken regarding the cancer part (small details, huh?).

Complicating matters, however, is the presence in borage oil of other fatty acids that may interfere with GLA absorption. In addition, borage leaves and flowers contain potentially toxic substances (pyrrolizidine alkaloids, or PAs) which could, in theory, cause harm if ingested over long enough periods of time.

Well, if it represents a problem for you get the GLA
from Primrose oil(10% GLA) or Starflower oil(20% GLA).
Personally, I wouldn't put too much emphasis on that.

What I mean is that EVERYTHING can in theory give you
cancer.....EXCEPT apples(I swear this is true.... :) :) )
It made me laugh when I read it.
