Some people should understand that 650 HP is extremely expensive and impossible without cracking the valve cover open. Also keep in mind that Turbo's (not one but two) are needed to produce it's stock 320HP. BIG BLOCKS create 400+ naturally aspirated from the factory. There's something to be said about our heritage and it's in these cars that the american heritage lies.

It is possible to get 650 hp out of a supra without cracking open the valve cover..mine so far has around 450, and still get around 30mpg, and ive only spent about 3k on the car. Who cares if it needs two turbos..the car was designed that way..technology is the only replacement for displacement

Also consider this, I can create 1000+HP in a 1st Gen. Mustang and still have money left over to buy a Supra compared to what it will cost you to get that kind of performance out of your Supra. Not only that, the power band out of turbo's just isn't impressive since you have to wait for those suckers to kick in.

You may be able to create that much horsepower, but will you be able to drive the car to the track..how long will the car last like this..It does not take that long for the turbos to kick in, mine kick in at about 3k rpm or so, and once they kick in you stay in the powerband to where lag is no problem

Notice that they didn't whip out the new American Muscle in that shitty ass movie cuz those fucking things would make the Supra look like a toy. Hmmm.....40,000 for a supra with factory 320 HP a dyno'ed 354 HP RamAir TransAm or even an 320HP Cobra, naturally aspirated for under 35,000. Hmmm....?

The stock supra can be made to have around 420 hp for around 500 bux..and they did use an american car in the movie. To each his own, but know your facts before you post about another car. I have owned several old cars in my day and have shared a hobby with my dad, and he would kill me if he saw me writing this, but it is the truth.

Lady's and Gentelmen,
Let me introduce you to the 427 AC Cobra
490 @ 6,500 advertised, actual was closer to 520hp. These are some of the most sought after cars. A origional will cost you over 500,000.00
I don't think there is a person out there that would not break there neck to get a look at one going by.
I agree with thoughd of you that are into the Mustang/shelby classics. I my self have restored around 9 "2 for myself"classic mustangs ranging from 64.5 - 70 supercobra jet and every time we took them out a crowd would assemble.

sdf

ac cobra is still my dream car..about two years ago i believe that it was rated the fastest production car ever made..

Use to be a hard core classic guy, then decided to get a decent new muscle car, so I bought a '94 Z-28 and after a bunch of mods, got it dynoed at over 450hp. Its a nice car, but new cars suck. I'm selling this thing and going to buy a true American muscle car, a '67 GTO. For you guys running the Supras, give me a break. I don't care if you've got 1000 horses in a rice burner, its still a peice of shit, unless you're a chick. Even with a 455, I could crawl into my engine compartment for a couple hours, then never have to wrench on it again. Anybody that really knows about wrenching will tell you that all your rides are complete headaches. I would rather own one '68 Shelby like my bro, than a dozen highly modded Supras any day. You're basically comparing a tricked out Honda motorcycle to a Harley. Aint gonna happen. If you want to play with toys, buy a TOYota. If you want a sick ass car with style and attitude, well...

CJ 7 Jeep Lifted, no tops, no doors rain or shine. I get all the babes looking. It is like having your shirt off when you drive

Hey..where you from..Im sure I could find a supra guy willing to race your bros car and video tape it so we can all see whos car is a piece of shit...just because you cant afford a supra doesnt mean they are shit..have you ever driven one, owned one, even riden in one? By your ignorance I can easily say that your answer is not to each one of those questions.

if you think 320 hp stock and 375 hp from just pulling a hose is a toy, then you are an imbecile

For the amount of money you have to put into a Supra, you can do a frame-up on nearly any classic muscle car, and have it slap your rice burner silly. Yes, I've driven a Supra, the same day I test drove the newest RX-7 and one of those crappy 3000GTs. They're nothing compared to a big block. You'll never, never take a modded supercharged big block off the line. Top end yes, I'll give that to you, but on the launch you'd be smacked badly. Anyway, Supras sound like crap.
