Actually, that's the truth -- women like the attention -- like silly stuff that indicates attention to detail. To a woman that means you took the time to think about her and what she might like. Sometimes it seems a little sappy, but getting that sort of attention these days is really a big turn on. Note though that it will only work in the long run if you mean it -- I'm sure lots of girls will "fall for it" if you are just doing it to get the kitty, but ultimately she'll figure out that you are full of shit and just using her (or at least I hope she figures it out...)

But if you really mean it, that extra little effort and attention to detail will go a long way.
