Gif Files For Avatar Wtf?

i have seen some gifs on here(sermon_of_mockery's for one) that are pretty big, i think his is like 45 frames. i have been trying to make one, the quality is not as good as sermons at all so it shold be smaller, and it is only 20 frames, pixels is 100 by 100 but it's like 146,241 bytes, not even close to what it's suposed to be, i dont get it. i have even tried 2 frames, 100 by 100 pixels and it's way too big, wtf gives? is there some option i need to be using to make the guf files smaller or compressed or something?

lower the amount of colors used in the gif.... that will shrink the file size

i'm using ulead gif animator. suposed to be one of the best ones, and there are no options for lowering the color level. i tried doing it with one frame with photoshop, didn't make to much of a difference

never mind, found it. but to make a 18 frame gif work the quality is so bad you can hardly tell what it is

You and sermon need to have a photoshop fight to the death. This board isn't big enough for the both of you. Someone's skills must be declared superior.

Yeah his may have 45 frames but look at it. It looks like at it's set at 16 colors. It looks nice but it's basically black white and few shades of gray. That makes for a smaller GIF. A gif with enough color for a person for example to look decent and could have much more than 5-6 and still be small enough to use. Cut color a little and cut frames. Just slow down the frame rate.

My old Avatar. 20k. maybe 5 frames. I forget. And I certainly had to work it to get it small enough. 20K isn't much room.

Mine is only 10k, however I didn't make mine.

Just put up a gif of your bicep flexing...that shouldn't take up much room at all. HA!
