despite popular belief brown rice is only slightly better to eat for a bb'r than white rice. the GI/GR's are comparable, however since brown rice does not go throught the same milling process it is higher in EFA's, fiber and other nutrients.
 
rice (especially white rice) has not a very low GI/II

oats, whole pasta is a better low GI source of carbs
