Getting Wisdom Yanked

Hey everyone,

Getting my wisdom teeth yanked tomorrow...all 4... before the root canal and crown. Never had any serious dental work done so I am curious to hear your stories. Everyone has been trying to freak me out with tales of pain and misery but I figure, hell it is only a few useless teeth. Let me know your experiences...especially the bad ones...yes I have some morbid fascination about these things.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth yanked out when I was in 8th grade, before I got braces. They were impacted at a diagonal angle under the molars, so they had to crush them up and then scoop them out. The procedure wasn't bad at all, since they put me under for it.

...post surgery was hell though. The oral surgeon said to keep it iced pretty much non-stop for at least 24 hours, which I didn't do, and my mom didn't force me to either. As a result, the area was sore as hell for an entire month... it hurt to eat anything. Definitely follow their instructions to a T, so you don't go through the same thing.

nightmare!!!!
Only one other thing hurt me more than having mine pulled,and that was when a homemade rocket went off in my hand,scorching me with 2nd degree burns.
So yeah,it sucks real good.
But,the only pain was cause by one of my sockets not coagulating,and giving me what they call a "dry socket".
DOH!
