So a week ago, I went to visit the national cemetery my wife's grandfather is buried in... I have been to other cemeteries like this before, because I have relatives also buried in them also, however for some reason this particular time, I saw things a little bit differently...
His final resting spot is near the center of that particular cemetery, and I came to realize that the headstones stretched to the horizon in every direction around me... I knew there are a lot of similar cemeteries, and that the total number of people who were honored with burial in such places must be huge (I looked it up and there are 136 with a total of more than 2.5 million Americans buried in them)
I thought about the fact that I am sure it is only a fraction of those who have served this country... I also thought that maybe the if the people who say things like "Why should I vote?", or "Why should I fight for this country?" and similar statements should just once visit one of these places and see what you think after seeing the many who came before us and served so that you may have what you have today....
