getting sick while on

jonny jacked

it hits like clock-work. every time I'm on, my immune system goes to shit, and i get sick
sure enough, two days ago, I get sick. feel like shit (congested chest, body aches etc).
have not been to the gym in 3 days (cannot remember the last time I took that much time off) and now of course (do to my obvious case of dysmorphobia..) I feel like im getting small and loosing all my strength - and jsut when I was starting to get freaky big...

anyway, just wondering what you guys take /do when you get sick while on

currently on:
test cyp 600mg/wk
tren ace 50mg/day
anavar 60mg/day

I take Antibiotics so I can get it over with as soon as possible. Time is precious when you are on cycle and to sick to work out.

I second that. I get sick everytime I cycle too. Go to doc, get anti-biotics, be back in gym in 2-3 days. You'll have barely skipped a beat

How would antibiotics help what is most likely a viral infection?

exactly.

stop being a and get to the gym anyway.

this happens to me to,
every time.

so every time i just go lift anyway
and by the time my warms up are getting heavy
i start to feel SO much better

not the greatest workout,
but better than no workout
and helps temporarily relieve aches and chills

"test flu"?

True, but u usually get prscribed an antibiotic tpo ward off other infections. I always recover faster w/ an antibiotic tho and I always seem to recover w/in a few days. However...I don't get the 'test flu' so to speak, I always get a damned sinus infection that has 'flu-like' symptoms. If u have a real flu virus, no anti-bitoic is going to really help much, and u won't be able to do squat in the gym until it goes away.

Working out while sick is going to do two things. First, it is going to prolong your illness which will ensure weaker workouts, and less progress. Second, it is going to make EVERYONE ELSE SICK WHO IS A MEMBER OF YOUR GYM! Don't be "that guy" who comes in sneezing and snotting all over the fucking gym infecting the dumbbells and barbells with whatever the fuck it is you have.

The best thing to do is:
-call off of work for 2-3 days
-tell everyone you know to leave you alone
-turn your cell phone off
-cover your bedroom windows with tin foil to keep all the sunlight out
-take a good over the counter medication to relieve your symptoms
-drink gallons of gatorade and keep your calories high
-run a vicks humidifier all day and all night
-AND SLEEP AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!

I never workout when sick...unless I do not know im sick and feel it the next day...it's nuts why anyone works out sick

Second, if you keep geting sick find why your imunne system is in the toilette ...there is a reason

AAS will weaken your immune system a bit but not to the point that you can't function from a cold. And don't forget you on the juice anyway, you will recover faster

Lifting weights on a regular basis in and of itself will weaken your immune system. This is why a reputable muti-vitamin pack taken daily is important. I also load up on anti-oxidants such as vitamin E, Beta Carotene, Grapeseed Extract, and of course Vitamin C my the truckloads. A few doses of B-complex throughout the day will help as well.

If you take your multi-pack in the morning with breakfast, and a dose of all the anti-oxidants I mentioned above within 20 minutes of your workout with your PWO shake, you will be surprised how much better you feel the next day.

I appreciate those who responded, but I must say I am surprised by all the - well - bad advice

1. antibiotics for the common cold?? are you serious? someone wasn't paying attention in biology class when the teacher explained the difference between a virus and bacteria

2. someone said something to the effect "just suck it up and go to the gym anyway" first off, if I felt like I could make it there - I would. to that end (and I believe someone else touched on this). Engaging in strenuous activity (working out) only further weakens you when you are sick. REST is essential in a speedy recovery (I thought that was common knowledge??). further, by me going to the gym sick, coughing and sneezing all over everything, I’m just spreading my germs - not exactly a nice thing to do to the rest of you there.

Thanks to those that offered their advice as to products / supps to take.
I do take a mult- vit. B-Complex, Omega-3 and vit. C

I guess its just frustrating - I hate being sick!

Working out while being a little sick is actually not that bad, and supposedly even good for you. Just don't overdo it, and make sure that you have nothing more than a bit of a cold.

Eat healthy and get plenty of rest. Get some medicine in the pharmacy... it won't cure your cold, but there's some incredibly effective stuff that reduces your symptoms big time.

Can you please post some links to medical journals and/or case studies completed by top universities illustrating this fact? Thanks, I would appreciate it.

There you go bro. :)

EDIT: Only the 1st one is based on a study, but still, most 'experts' seem to say there's nothing wrong with working out if you're not too sick, as long as you don't overdo it.

Bro this happens to me sometimes as well.. believe it or not.. I start taking vitamin C tabs and drinks lots of gatorade and some pm meds to help me sleep and I'm better.. in 24hrs.. Get some vitamin C!!!
