getting ripped

I just read a post that said if you do alot of cardio then be sure to eat more to prevent muscle loss. Well doesnt that defeat the purpose of cardio? I thought in order to lose fat, then u have to consume fewer calories then your body uses. Somebody update me on this, im lost.

That would also depend on what you're eating. No ones telling you to go to McDonalds after the gym or eat junk. That would defeat the purpose of cardio.

If your trying to get ripped stay on a high protein, low carb and low fat diet. Eat alot of high protein based meals. I eat about 4-5 times a day and dropping BF as we speak.

Search the diet forum, there's numerous diets for preserving muscle while loosing BF.

The point is that too much cardio can be very catabolic. What is the point of putting on all of that muscle if you are just going to do tons of cardio and burn it off along with the fat.

Eat more PROTEIN,not overall calories.Equally drop down carbohydrate/fat intake.Protein will not only help preserve mass under stress, but it's assimilation requires more energy just to digest, equalling more calories burned just by its consumption than either carbs or fat.
