Getting Epson printer to print black....

Got a clog or something when I changed cartridges. Have done the ink nozzle "cleansing" cycle several times to no avail. This uses a great deal of color ink so I quit trying it.

I have also been trying to print solid black sheets hoping that as the printer keeps trying to push black ink through it will succeed.

The ink meter says I have lots of both inks.

Once they stop printing black
they never go back..

I have used generic for over a year. I do a lot of printing when it works. The generics worked......until now.

Makes sense that the generic is a part of the problem though.

Don't do anymore cleanings than necessary; goes thru a ton of ink. Is it printing black pages or not? What model is it?

I can't get a drop of black ink out...not one letter.

It is a Photo 825. I alos have a Color 3000 which is ill.

You sure you took the sticker thing off the cartridge? Take it out and make sure it's punctured on the bottom.

Sticker is off and bottom is punctured.

try cleaning it with some alchohol on a rag or paper towel

My black indicator says that I have used 3/4 of the cartridge yet not one letter has been printed with this cartridge. Not good.

I'd exchange it. On some models you can use 1/4 of the ink everytime you do a nozzle check.

If in doubt, try a diff cart

try a different cart or clean the print head with a pencil eraser.
