Getting back into some RATM

I post this kind of thing every once in a long while. Great for workouts, naturally. I have about 10 or 12 tracks on my iPod playlist...people routinely see myself spazzing out on the treadmill, playing airdrums, lip synching like a rabidcunt, etc...but that's ok, because I'm running faster and longer than they are.

---------

Know Your Enemy
Killing In The Name Of
People Of The Sun
Bombtrack
Fisftul of Steel
Vietnow
Good Morning Vietnam
How I could Just Kill A Man
Renegades Of Funk
Testify
Bulls On Parade
Freedom

What are your favourites...make some recommendations, pigfingers.

Did you really just try to make an "I can out-treadmill you!" claim?!

That entire first Rage album is one of the greatest albums of all time. Top 10 no doubt, maybe Top 5. There is no possible way I could pick top songs out of there. The entire thing is brilliance and timeless.

I goo for RATM

Know your Enemy is awesome, I love the cameo by Maynard James Keenan on it.

nice with the VH, although i have zero on my ipod at this time, i think.

dreams is a good one, jump, panama, eruption, ain't talkin' bout love, and runnin with the devil...i loves me some stuff from VH's first (would also include feel your love tonight, ice cream man, you really got me) .

of course, even though this will do for a workout, and even though i listen to all sorts of crap (even shit that don't rock at all) during a workout...RATM is on a different level.

Dude,
If I had the old question of being Deserted on an island with batteries,
a boom box and one album, ^ that would be it.

Humans Being is a relatively unknown banger of a track..

Rage rules. JAck - you ever listen to any bloc party? Not the same sound as Rage but I enjoy the beats and find it is good music for energy.

I actually ipod'ed up some 'Tears for Fears" Big Chair this morning as a cool down
stretching mood enhancer..

Good in a different way.

I may pick up some RATM at the library today as I haven't got any on my pod.

I just check my iTunes and am currently at 23 Gig of music. 4800 songs lol

Rage is getting back together for one gig this summer, they'll be headlining the Coachella Festival.

Surely I'm not the only 50-year-old who actually likes RATM.

this response deserves a response.

anyway, i have since downloaded every single mp3 of RATM's that i've been able to find.

all the tracks from renegades, ratm, evil empire, the battle of la, and a few from live&rare. although a lot of it sounds similar (duh, most bands are like this), pretty much all of it's good-great...and certainly good for a workout, of course. nothing i don't like thus far. probably have 15-20 tracks that i haven't properly listened to. played some on my 10k run this afternoon.

unfortunately, my fucking ipod's headphone jack is starting to fuck up. contact must be loose, or the conductive film is wearing thin in one spot, because the left channel is dead most of the time (works for a while when i fidget with it, but when running...cuts out soon.) :(

just ordered a new ipod nano 8gb (black, of course). :)

I just got a 30 gig Creative Zen vision M, and it rocks. Too big though.

word, the small form factor and weight of the nano is key for my running pleasure.

there are probably other options which are just as good (practically speaking) and cheaper, but i don't have the patience and i'm a bit of a brand whore.

what do you fellas run for headphones on your nanos? i got this sony wrap aroung ear deal, that has a short line, which is what i want, wear it on the bicep.

whats good for runnning and sound quality?

They put me through many a workout.

I blew the speakers on my boom box.

i have a pair of Koss KSC35s, and i've used them for about 2 years. they were discontinued and then brought back, but i don't see them on Koss's website right now (www.koss.com). there's a newer version, which i also have but don't use, called the KSC75. they're supposed to have the same drivers as the KSC35, but with a slightly different look. i prefer the older KSC35s because they are a bit lighter and stick out less from the side of my head. i've used the hell out of 'em and they are great for working out because of the ear-clip design (never come off, if they've been fit on the ear properly) and the relatively good sound. many people will recommend them for portable listening.

here's the KSC75:

http://www.koss.com/koss/kossweb.nsf/p?openform&pc^sc^KSC75

and if you'd like to do more research on headphones, earphones, etc...this is the place:

www.head-fi.org

they're all nutty about sound quality, and just about any other facet of audio equipment you might care about (with a focus on headphones).
