Hello,
Please forgive me for making a lengthy post. It is not my intent to write a bio, but I need assistance and feel that background might be helpful to anyone willing to render assistance.
Over the past month, I have been researching supplements, steroids, and alternatives for the purpose of getting my thirty-something body to do the work it needs to do, and I am at a bit of a crossroads.
You see, 15 years ago, I was a competitive powerlifter. At 20, I did not take anything other than protein powder. My body responded well and I weighed around 250 with about 14-16% body fat...I wasn't interested in being cut because I was into strength, not look. I did do one cycle of Andro in the mid 90's.
A funny thing happened over the past 15 years though...no longer lifting and exercising, I gained up to almost 400 pounds. Last August I decided enough was enough and I began to diet and exercise - primarily walking and light lifting. I have lost almost 80# and at 310 I have a 40-42" waist...I am no where near what I need to get to, and weight lifting is what I know..but my body is not responding to lifting like it used to.
Here is what I have concluded so far:
Plan A. was ordering Turanabol online because it is good for cutting and would support my weight loss effort. By most accounts it is effective and has minimal sides. It is oral which simplifies life and if it is not as effective as injection...well, I am not planning on bodybuilding - just doing a cycle or 2 to kickstart my workouts.
The problem:
(1) Ordering steroids online is risky. I am a grad student and if customs busted me for attempting to order controlled substances, I would lose my financial aid and it would ruin my career. Even if the chances of getting caught are slim, that is too much - I cannot risk that.
(2) I am not "in the know" when it comes to labs and local suppliers. My gym is a nice collegiate weight room. If you are not "in the know" you cannot get "in the know."
...So I have looked at legal prohormone alternatives and here is what I have come up with.
(1) most of them don't work...there are a lot of shams out there.
(2) Out of all of the options, m-D.r.o.l. - , h-d.r.o.l. , and s-D.r.o.l. have the most positive feedback, particularly when part of a stack. Others that have positive feedback include Liquid Masterdrol, Bold, and Havoc, though they have more reported sides.
My current plan is to ramp up my workouts over the next 30 days, then begin a cycle of something...I know that is a bit vague...herein is the problem. Having read pages and pages of reviews, cycle reports, and articles on the supplements, I still don't know where to start, and what cycle support / PCT - post cycle therapy - is really needed. Ideally, I would like to find the most effective stack, and a single support supplement to go with it, then a single PCT supplement. Most of what I read on forums describes the PCT needed for a post M-D.r.o.l./H-D.r.o.l stack to be as intensive as a post anabolic androgenic steroids cycle PCT encompassing a laundry list of products.
Since I have pretty well eliminated anabolic androgenic steroids from a possibility, is M-D.r.o.l./H-D.r.o.l stacking overkill? I do not intend to seek medical assistance...as a full time grad student, I cannot afford to have blood work done, is the 17a-methyl component of these OTC products really that dangerous to my liver? Is there a single cycle support product that is effective at protecting my body? PCT? I started this weight loss and shape up journey because I did not want to die before I turn 40. I definitely don't want to kill myself with some supplement.
Thanks in advance for any assistance given.
Please don't flame...I have read so many threads and run so many searches. If anything, I am more confused now than I was because of the knowledge. It seems to me that Turanabol would actually be safer than the OTC alternatives (the irony)...effective in lower doses and shorter cycles without stacking...but the legal issue makes it not possible.
(just noticed that the board auto extends abbreviations to anabolic androgenic steroids equivalents. I edited it but may have missed something).
