Hey guys, I am going to do a search on this but I was wondering about the po box thing in the United States. Do you need to show id? Do you recommend getting one right at the post office or at a satellite sight somewhere? Any info you dudes think I should know would be great!

Anyone else been having any problems with customs at JFK?:p

Thanks in Advance

yes you have to show 2 forms of id, one has to be a photo id.

ok, so most likely I will have to show id, so where does the anonymity of a po box come in? Can a fed not just watch me pick up a pack?

That's why a PO box isn't as effective as everyone says it is...

My thoughts exactly. what is the difference between a po box and my mailbox? I usually do not open my candy packs for a couple of days and I always leave them in a sort of open area with retrun to sender written on them.

BTW, a follow up query. My candy pack got snagged at JFK 3 weeks ago and the guy reshipped autmatically, what do you think my chances of seeing it are?

he's probably right or even 60/40 now that you just got flagged. I got flagged a year ago and after your box is clean for a while I think they quit looking at you as hard.
i think you mean 40/60. 60/40 would mean that the odds are in his favor. ah who the hell cares everyone know's what ya meant!:p

to anyone thats trying to get a p.o. box after 9/11:

i went a few weeks ago and they told me that after sept11 you need to show 2 forms of id, one must be a drivers license and the other some form of picture id. you also need to show a utilities bill that proves you live in the state and have a residence. i was angry with the lady.

I've had 3 different PO Boxes from 2 different places, they were both USPS branches. One place actually does a background check, and they call you if you've been accepted to get one. The other place, I just filled out the form, showed them ID, payed the fee and they gave me the key. So I guess it all depends on where you go, different policies and other BS.
