getting a fashion designer for my clue-less bro

good looking juiced up tall bro (tall dark and good looking) on the thin side of being yoked up but cut and looks good from all angles

*his haircut is something a 40 year middle aged would sport
*his clothes are basically total shit...just old t shirts
*his shoes are all sneakers

he is a good looking tall guy just dresses like a 40 year old guy when he is 25.

he needs some help. I dont live near him anymore but he lives just outside of San fran, CA

He wants to improve his look but he is quite shy and needs someone to throw his ass thru the door to get him to do something on a matter like this. I am no where near him so I cannot drag his ass around

chics have mentioned this him about his look etc..."he is hot but looks out of place most of time"

he has money (not baller or anything etc) he can put $ towards a new hair cut with some new clothes but he will not do it on his own etc

any idea I can get him a bit more modern looking?

how would you approach him about getting some new shit?

I wish queer eye was around for this shit to fix this mess.

how can I approach him/this ?

thanks

this sounds gay, but for my style challenged close friends, i go shopping with them.

it's hard to tell what look would work for him...different body types, tapers, cuts and fits all make a difference. trial and error you learn what works for you.
I used to wear alot of long sleeve, dressy collared shirts. They'd look great, but my body type isn't flattering for them. Now i just wear really cool t shirts which taper my body well (dominant traps, shoulders and arms) most of the time with dressy jeans and nice shoes. I can get in pretty much any club in south beach with that look

if he likes wearing t shirts, just have him upgrade his t shirts. Get some vintage type t shirts that are cool but kinda dressy. san fran has a ton of botique type shops, he could find a little botique with good clothes if he really tried.
same with the sneakers...he just needs to wear more stylish sneakers. you can find some badass prada sneakers on sale online. lacoste has some really badass sneakers too

for people with no style whatsoever, i'd start him off with kenneth cole. kenneth cole has always been money. Spend a grand in there, and you'll come out a new man. Their shoes have always been great, but the rest of their clothes are really good.
You can find some good deals and cool stuff on bluefly.com too.
revolveclothing (someone from here put me onto them ) is a good base point for learning whats hot now. But alot of the shit on there is straight up fashion emergency, so gotta buy the right stuff.

invest in 2-3 pairs of good jeans....zara has amazing jeans for cheap, but if he wants something that'll last invest in a pair or two of AG, true religion or diesels. i even like Red Engine jeans, they're dope.

oh yeah..as far as approaching him.

all my friends usually come to me, once you show an interest to help them. i usually call them out and they'll be like "i dont know anything about this blah blah.....i need some guidance". they'll get upset at first but then realize they need to step it up

people who can't dress are very insecure about the fact they can't dress..so you really gotta be supportive and suggestive.

it's tough if you're not around.

far as the haircut, have him go to a really good stylist, and let him/her do most of the work. impossible to say without seeing him.

if he wants to change, you can just start pushing him and he'll probably listen

you are all into looking good dressing good..how the hell would you whip one of your friends into shape who you dont live with but he has expressed interest in getting his shit togather?

I've been over this before and a bunch of haters that don't know how to dress jump in and try to own me for where I shop.

I shop @ little fashion clothing botiques for 'going out' clothes, but I also get alot @ nordstrom in 'The Rail' section. For alot of daily wear pants and shit I go to express to stock up on bullshit, and fill in with Nord's and the other places.

I would bet anything that he looks fine and just doesn't want to look like these 20 something femme ass metrosexuals running around today.

dude!

thanks great advice... Kenneth cole will work out awsome.

He is in great shape so fitted trendy t shirts will work well on him..plus that is type of place to go out...very casual etc (nice jeans, t shirts decent looking kicks)

hopefully he will fly out here so I can get his in gear sometime.

ya just take him to a hair stylist and have her/him do work

I bet for a $1500 he could be a new man

you hit on the head as he is shy and innsecure about it so he just pushes it aside

kenneth cole (dressed up etc)
and he hangs out at chill places so trendy t shirts and jeans would work for him

he isnt too fancy or goes to really upscale places so no need to be over the top etc
