hey, i have a question. i work in a warehouse and it's always really hot and i'm constantly moving at a quick pace and lifting alot. they have a cooler full of gatorade for us to drink every now and then. my question is i know it has alot of sugar in it so should i stay away from it? i don't drink a whole lot of it....i mostly drink water. but will this hurt my progress if i'm trying to lose fat?

gatorade will give you energy so you don't have to start burning muscle. To me, losing muscle is the same thing as gaining fat. Just don't drink too much.

I'm not a fan of Gatorade. For replinishing lost muscle glycogen, high-fructose corn syrup does a pretty crappy job. HFCS has a higher affinity for forming hepatic glycogen than refueling muscle glycogen stores. I would recommend making your own blend. Go to proteinfactory.com and order plain dextrose powder. You can flavor it with unsweetened Kool-Aid. Add this to water, and pop some potassium/magnesium aspartate capsules if you find it neccessary. The dilution should be about 50g of dextrose per liter of water. Granted, this will not supply aminos acids, but it will keep glucose as your primary fuel. I would drink this along with water at about a 3:1 ratio. You might consider downing some caseinate when you don't think it will make you sick.
