holy fuck that would be a long drive for you...do you know where it's at??

beatiful country, and they usually get good snow, even in bad years...hanselthecaretaker is from around there, you should ask him. I've been to bohemia in the summer time and was impressed with their vertical...mini-mtns they have, looked fucking good for skiing/boarding/telemarking...
I live near Boyne Mtn, the biggest ski resort in the lower Peninusla

anyone from a rocky mtn state would laugh their asses of at either of these ski areas, but for michigan they are the best we got. IF you wanted to go here I could provide cheap lodging for you, I got a cabin you could stay at for next to nothing if you gave me some notice...if you were gonna come around me in the winter we'd have to get you on a snowmachine for a day, that's were the real fun is...

furthermore, if you went to copper harbor, you'd be near my home turf of crystal falls...if that's the case, I'll make the drive up to see my fam. basically, you ain't gonna come to northern michigan without blazing a phatty with me

thanks dude I appreciate it, and yes cooper harbour is gonna be a long drive, mapquest says around 12 hrs,but it will be worth it,lodging is like 50 bucks a night for a cabin, and its the only back country boarding this side of the rockies so Im itching to hit it.

when we commit to it ill let you know man and we can party at night once the slopes get shut down

There's a lot of curves and snowpacked roads in the Keweenaw (where Bohemia is). If you go in late January or February there should be some kickass snow with plenty of base. It all depends on the snowfall. I went early Jan. this past winter and while there was a lot of snow, some of the main runs were pretty torn up/icy. But since over half the the best runs are in the trees it won't matter. Plenty of good spots to hit where few have rode, so there's bound to be enough powder off the beaten path. You'll have a blast regardless.

And yeah I'll def. blaze one up with you and Gambino even if I don't board. We'll go to the Mariner North in Copper Harbor afterwards; awesome food and brewskies.

Cool to see some fellow snow lovers here. I am from Metro Detroit and haven't been to Bohemia but heard the snow is awesome. Blue Mountain over in Collingwood Ontario is a pretty cool place to ski and party. Hot chics too!

Any chics from the forum here into skiing or live in Michigan?

michigan skiing may be the suck but michigan snowmobiling gets countrywide props...I've heard of peeps from colorado towing machines to the UP to ride...some of the best trails there is. granted their is no mtn riding, but the trails are top notch.
I used to work at sugarloaf, ever skiied there? not bad for michigan

a coupla times at sugarloaf but caberfae was less than twenty minutes by articcat on the twotrax.
The twotrax were better than the road system, you can get anywhere in Michigan by the twotrax just outside of my house. Rode our dirtbikes and all that shit anywhere.
No where in the country has the backtrax like Michigan. You ever heard of the backwaters, great rope swing, cant remember where it was by, just how to get there, somewhere's out past Harrieta. Prolly a lil southwest of your grounds. All the lakes and shit, fun as hell, nothing can beat Michigan for the outdoor recs that are convenient, here, its much better but not convenient, huge tradeoff

MI hills may suck compaired to the bigger mountains but mt bo is the closest back country this side of the rockies so Im sure it will rock my socks. when I get to whistler Ill be skeetin in my pants.

gambino, how much fun is snowmobiling? ive never been

lol i know of a few sweet rope swings, a few near glenn arbor. i forget the name, proly not the same one but i know watchya' mean...I went to college at NMC for 2 yrs and a place i used to go hike/blaze at was prymaid point, near the town of Cedar...ever been there? lots of good karma to be found.
I just got my polaris tuned and torqued for the winter. new slides, 100 new studs, cleaned my carb, new chain and sprocket, new seals and bearings for my chaincase, rebuilt shocks and new springs, and various other shit...I'm ready for some fluff

Well Im not Gambino, but since we lived in an hour apart. The lake effect snow from Lake Michigan made snowmobiling the most sensical mode of transportation given the lack of snowplowing.
The independance is soooo fun, just get and go, best to hang with some who knows where you are going b/c you would be lost in a menagerie of backtrax on your way. But a coupla weeks snowmobiling up to a shanty to go icefishing and drink some beer, or just going from lodge to lodge or whatever. Its so fun, plus attacking hills and just being out in nature with no cops to pull you over. Thats the fun of the backtrax, roads in nature with no authority to bust you, just go and be smart and have fun. Carry a rifle, shoot some birds carrying that avian flu, its all allowed lolol, or at least....

snowmobiling, on a nice day, nothing beats that. the trail system is 100s of miles long and you can get anywhere by snowmachine. all sorts of restraunts and bars along the way to stop at, lakes to ride wide open on...me and a few buds will easily do 250 miles in a day of riding. expensive but fun

good shit dude,id love to hit the trails one day,I have hick friends who ride alot but Ive never got a chance to go

fucking gas is gonna kill me this year...my maching gets 9-10 miles a gallon.
2 strokes suck the gas down...$30 to fill my tank, easily burn through 3 tanks in a hard day of rippin

TheOak01 said:
I bet,but thankfully gas prices are declining

the other day when i was k rich i tried to buy you a week of platty but apparently someone already did. gay-ass rule

thanks dude I appreciate it,lestat hooked me up,but I cant get the thing to work,I get some error page, likely my crap computer

awww, yes, but that smell, that sweet smell of snowmo exhaust on your gloves and facemask covered in snow and saliva and expiration, that stank, sniffing in that smell of BO through your snowsuit, aww, that smell, makes it all worth it. That smell of your stinky breath on your skimask mouth, so discernable and never repeated, that distinct odor. Worth it, no?
