tallnskinny

New member
hi, im currently on a bulking cycle. i was stuck at a weight of 180 for what felt like forever and im a finaly gaining weight..but it seems to be in the form of fat and not LBM like i desire. idont realy know what im doing wrong..alli hear is that i should be eating alot of carbs whilst bulking and thats what ive done..and of course i eat alot of protien.
well it obvious im doing somethig wrong..should i not eat carbs after a certian time? are there certain types of carbs i shoudl be eating?
most of my cals come from : Milk, meat, bread, a MRP wich i take in the morning and post workout, etc.

any thoughts, as always are appreciated

please provide us w/ your stats...

current weight, BF%, AGE, calorie intake and such. If you know your C/P/F split, that would even be better.

im 16 , 185 pounds , im not sure of my exact BF but its in th 13-15 range i believe, my calorie intake is around 3500 +/- , i have no clue of my C/P/F split , from the foods i eat its probly mostly carbs and protien but im not sure

Well, there are two things that I would suggest you to do...

1) Find out exactly what your C/P/F split is because sometimes, even though it might seem apparent to you, you could be eating too much fat or carb (carb will turn into fat also) So do a evaluation of a typical day and list them all out (and of course calculate the P/C/F split yourself)

2) I have done the 3500K cal "bulking" before on a "ABCDC" program and it didn't work for me. (I am ~180 also) I ended up gaining a bunch of fat all over. If I were you, I would do 500 above the maintenance. You won't experience the weight increase as much as you do right now but you get to gain muscle slowly but SURELY. If I were you, I would try ~2500-2700 and see how it works for you. Also, Try a 40P/40C/20F split on your
diet. That should be quite typical although, as always, some people might suggest you a slightly different ratio.

Last but not least, I wouldn't go blindly on your diet. You have gotta know your P/F/C split in order to be effective. I made the mistake of not doing it when I first started, only to find out that I was taking too much carb and not enuf protein.

Good luck.

I'd cut down on carbs, but your only 16 so i really don't want to give you suggestions towards your diet because your body is still growing rather rapidly at your age and you really don't want to deplenish your body from any needed nutrients.

Drop your cals some, maybe to 2500 to 3000 a day and switch up some of your carb cals to cals from healthy fats. That don't work, rotate your carbs.
