FuKC - Got a speeding ticket in NYC

I got a speeding ticket in NYC. Its 6 points (23mph over - 63 in a 40 - on the FDR) On the ticket it says anything over 21 mph is an automatic 6 points and you have to take a driving course. this sucks!! Does anyone know if you get a ticket out of state that the points only equal to two? I heard this before but since I live in NJ dont know if it applies to NYC

I'd call the NJ Dept. of Motor Vehicles and find out. 6 pts is ridiculous.

NJ and NYC do not share DMV info - At least thats what I was told in the past, you just need to pay the fine.

I doubt those points will carry out of state, however if they make u take a class and u dont they may try to suspend you which will carry over. I would call them

Yes it is 6 points. Got me one of those in my youth. I have also been to traffic school. What fun that is.

I don't know if NJ and NY share records but you might want to find out. I know when I moved to SC and got a licence here, NY sent them all my evil deeds. The SC guy said "don't know why they sent this" and then through a 10 page report in the garabage. LOL.

Those bastards in NYC did get my license suspended for a parking ticket 5 years after the fact. Went to renew my SC license and they told me it was suspended. WTF. Owed some thing like 20 bucks with a 5 dollar fee that went to a different dept. Couldn't pay by CC it was a pain in my ass.

you do the crime, you do the time.

i always wanted to say that.

I also wanted to say, "I'm sorry, we did all that we could" and "how much did i inherit?"

I beleive if the states touch then points do carry over, but if they do not touch then you just have to pay the fine. Then again I could be wrong.
