I doubt it will be able to auto-detect the device. She was already in the BIOS and changed the boot drive. If it didn't recognize it then, I doubt it will now, though I could be wrong.

Unfortunately I think you will lose all of the programs. If Morphius was still around, then problem solved.

I think you might have to start from scratch. As painful as I know that will be.

I'm guessing the CD you want to boot to is a Manufacturer's Recovery CD?
If so, you should have also gotten a recovery boot Floppy disk that is needed to boot from first, then use the CD to recover Windoze to a original state and probably still save office if you are lucky..
