it appears the plugin for my computer charger (on the back of the computer) has failed as well as possibly the primary battery. Is the connection to the A/C adapter usually soldered on or something else?

you are talking about the AC power adapter "hole" in your computer correct? not the power cord i assume?

yes, you are correct, the receiver for the AC adapter is soldered to the main power board of a laptop usually......if you are skilled in soldering and assembly/disassembly you can fix it...otherwise i would have it fixed by a professional....this is fairly common with laptops

Yes, thank you. Acer will fix it for free but will cost me 14 days minimum without a computer.

You should be able to dismantle the tablet sufficiently to make a 'by eye' inspection, assuming you don't have any stickers covering screws saying 'removal voids warranty' or similar.

yeh, but if he goes in there and does any kind of damage rather it be critical or just cosmetic they will probably not fix it.....repair centers are FUCKERS!!!
