yeah I agree-------this is all going to come back around on us in the up in coming olympics------what is interesting about the olympics is we americas have like 10-50 times the athletes in the games, more money in training then any other country---the best training places and we barly are at the top of the medal count. percentage wise its pitiful-----oh well we still rule the world for now

That's because the best athletes in the U.S. are doing the sports you make more money at..e.g. Football, Basketball, baseball, Golf(Wtf), tennis, etc. If I'm a superb athlete Why TF should I do speedskating when I can even run Track and make more money...If I am a good atlete in Sweden I think speedskating and bobsled are all I really will be able to do.
BTW..Most of america's athletes are second generation immigrants anyway(I dont think anyone else noticed)..Ohno,japanese Dad, Hughes,Canadian Dad, Kwan,Chinese dad..so america gets all the best athletic genes anyway cause they all come here eventually....

I can't believe they are protesting - what a joke - clearly a response to the pair skating saga. Sarah Cohen skated a truly perfect program - I am so thrilled for her.

What's interesting most Russians train in the US and compete for Russia. Know why? Becuase if they had to train in the US and compete in the US they'd never make it out of Nationals to even qualify for the Olympics. I remember when Kyoko decided back in the early 80's that she would skate for Japan becuase she wasn't making it as a single skater for the US. Yet in her defense her skating has improved 200%, so YAY ofr her. That said, I still like Irina Slutskaya - but that's personal because she remind me of me.

I love Sasha Cohen - she's my pick for 2006. She has talent, spunk and drive.

Michelle should have hung it up 4 years ago - the reality is harsh and she will always be remembered for the failure. I personally think she is soul searching. After 20 years of being ONLY a figure skater and to wake up knowing you have no other interests or experience to guide you through your future you just gasp on to what you have.
