KillahBee said:on a side note - I just saw the R-rated version of 50's PIMP video. LMAO - some nice tits on that video
KillahBee said:just heard this awesomely profound lyric:
"You homo niggas gettin AIDS in the ass
While the homie here tryin to get paid in advance"
and then there's:
"Nigga, I will, kill your girl
Then fuck her and make you watch"
America's youth is not in trouble.
RaZor Ramon said:It's hard to find substance in most rap lyrics these days. But at least Kanye West is still dropping some knowledge. Lyrics suck a whole lot more then they did back in the days but it's changing times.
KillahBee said:fuck Kanye West. he is a fucking racist. oh wait, I forgot, it's only racist when people speak negatively of "blacks", but not the other way around.
RaZor Ramon said:What was he racist about? I listened to the whole CD and I pretty much felt it echoed the sentiments of most college educated black men in America. I just had a discussion about racism in America with my girlfriend this week and filled her in on some stuff she didn't know. She's hawaiian for what it's worth. Racism is not so far removed from what it was in the 50's. I was called nigger more than once in childhood and really feared for my safety more than once and this was in Connecticut. I am being dead serious on that shit. Any black man you know I am betting has had more one drive by "Niiiigggggeeer!!!!" in his life. I guess the big difference from when I was a kid and how things were in the 50's what the guys in the car didn't stop the car and get out it for me.
KillahBee said:I don't doubt that for a second my man. I live in CT now, by the way. Boston is still very old school like that. Hell, my own family is like that (the old Italian way). I have heard in a few of his songs things about "the white man" and whatnot. Not outright hatred racism or anything, but definitely something that, if it was aid by a white person, would raise many many more flags. Shit, if a white guy ever tried to make a television station based on the premis of a "white people only" type of thing (BET), he would be lynched. Just making a point that all racism should not be tolerated, but in this country we seem to have a pattern of trying to overcompensate when something is done wrong (racism and segregation of the early/mid century).
RaZor Ramon said:The thing is this. Black people have to deal with racism like white people don't. Point blank. It's part of living in America. I can give you countless more FOR REAL racism I've had to deal with but there's no point in all that. I am an intellegent independent black man. So I can bitch and moan or I can do what I can to give myself and my family the best life possible in this country. One is being in business for myself. Don't get me wrong I love my country even if my country doesn't love me as much as I love it. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. You can call it racism but I think it's just Kayne West telling what he's been through as a black man in America and how it makes him feel.
I can tell you from personal experience it fucks with your head when your head while you sit at the dinner table of a friend or a girlfriend and their quietly racist family doesn't put their racism in your face but you know the night before they were talking about some nigger playing that jungle music too loud or whatever. Yet they somewhat accept you despite being a "nigger" you ain't that bad and are one of the few "good ones." I've really wanted to smack the shit out of someone's mother for calling me that. "A good one."
Regardless of what you think of black racism getting a pass or affirmative action of whatever, what white person in their right mind would want to be black in America? I didn't chose to be black. I was born into and I love my race, my people and all that jazz but from I've seen being white in America isn't something that doesn't seem to bad to me. You can be a black man and prosper in America. You just have to do it after getting up from getting kicked in the balls first watch out for the next kick. Let's see. I worked for CBS News in New York and The Weather Channel in Atlanta. I have a degree and all and I've been pulled over at least 100 times in my lifetime.
KillahBee said:Listen, I am not debating any of that nor am I discrediting any of it, so I hope you didn't take it that way. All I am talking about is reverse racism towards whites that is competely tolerated because of this PC world we have created. It's not the answer. Shit, I am Italian and have seen firsthand MANY instances of my family and I being discriminated against (lived in Ohio for a while), but the world still tolerates blatant stereotyping and prejudicing against Italians. All I am saying is that if a person is against discrimination, they should be against it 100%, not just when it's convenient for them. Otherwise it means nothing,
RaZor Ramon said:Well at least it seems we see eye to eye on racism and even reverse racism to a point. Some of what you may think it reverse racism I may think it just reactions to situations but that's neither here nor there. Still you never said what makes Kanye West racist. Can you quote some lyrics?
KillahBee said:let me find a few. I remember a line about the white man getting paid off of black ghetto youth selling drugs. as I said, nothing blatant and hateful, but its still racism in my mind and my point was that it is tolerated because it is black against white as opposed to vice versa. To your point though, it does seem to be a reaction type of thing based on legit experiences.
RaZor Ramon said:But what he's talking about there is while are blacks are on the lowest level selling drugs in the street it was white criminals at the top of the drug trade bringing the shit into the country but you don't hear about that part of it as much. While black are involved in organize crime that's more a white man's game. Blacks don't generally don't have the money and connections to bring hundreds of pounds of cocaine into the country. That shit has to get here somewhere and they ain't growing it like that here in the states in terms of volume or quality.
KillahBee said:Good point - maybe that is what he is talking about. Either way, it sounded like a racist remark to me (my perception perhaps) and it is odd how not a damn person says a word about it.
