God bless the unions. They'd move overseas anyways. That's a fucking fact. It's to damn obvious. So fuck 'em, if were goin down, so are they.

Thats right, lets run the labor rates so high in this country that all coporations will be forced to leave, yeah!!!!! Or even better, lets stop foreign workers from getting any jobs here at all. I am sure that their home countries will not do the same to us. GM, Ford, coke, pepsi, Mcdonalds, Boeing, UPS, Fedex etc do not need any business from over seas. They could just sell at home. And then, with all the new tax money we would have from all the jobs we would gain, we could build an f-ing wall from Maine to Washington state. Well, maybe canada also, I mean they only buy billions of $ in american goods , what do we need them for?

Unions are basde on the silly notion that labor (and its costs) cannot be treated as a commodity.

yet I can live with unions. I can't live with public sector unions though. They were too liberal even for FDR.

I know this sounds bad, but losing labor to overseas isn't bad. It's actually good for the US ecnomy.
Say a company moves to Juarez Mexico. They make wakeboards for $20 cheaper than in the US because of cheap labor. Well now you save $20 so you have that much more money to invest back in US goods. or think of it by freeing up funds to spend on other goods and services.

This is only bad if the US workers don't get reemployed. But we know they will, because, one their wages were too high to begin with, and American consumers have an infinite desire for goods and services.

Another example is say importing cheaper steel. the US it trying to put quotas on the amount of steel we can import. this really hurts our economy, sure that small sector of steel workers will be out of work for a while, but you are releasing resources (steel workers) that weren't valued much and releasing them to produce that will bring the US citizens more happiness. If you can make the assoication that "happiness" can be measure in dollers.

This is the major argument in ecnomics today. I belive that goverment interventions (quotas, taxes, bans, penaltys) as a whole are bad for the US ecnomy. These large corps. by being the greedy money hungry way they are really looking out for society's best interest. If firlms profits are increases by relocating, them we expect that society's happiness is also increases..We can trust the firm or corp. to do what is right for society, as long as it does what it best for itself.
