From fat to an average body type, question

This might be a little off topic on the aas board but I know there are some personal trainers that frequent here and I'd like to hear your thoughts and/or experiences on this.

I've noticed that people who are obese and lose a lot of weight quickly tend to have to get work done to remove excess skin and tighten up specific areas.

Is there a rate of weight loss that would be "existant" but slow enough to allow the skin to adapt with a changing body type... or will there always be saggy skin once its stretched out that much?

Not sure I'm qualified to give you the best answer on this, but I'll do my best. I had a buddy that lost about 60 pounds one summer in highschool do to a serious growth spurt. He went from short and pudgy to tall and lean over the summer. Insane change. People didn't recognize him after. He didn't have hanging skin or skin that looked loose, but he could pull on his skin and stretch it quite abit further than normal. I had another buddy that lost a lot of weight in a similar way, but he had stretch marks before he lost the weight, and afterwards he still had the stretch marks. They didn't go away. When I shot up to 220lbs from 182 in a year I developed some stretch marks around the bicep/pec area and close to a year later they are still their, although not as bad. Not sure they'll ever go away totally.
