Im plotting a population against time bar graph.
Dependant measure population = y axis
independant measure time = x axis
data is entered fine. I plot the graph choosing a time scale for the x axis.
When the graph is plotted, the x axis computer assigned values corresponding to each bar value are, 1, 2 , 3, 4 , 5 ect.....
I want to change the x axis measures to 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983
When I attempt to do this, by selecting the x axis after the graph has been created, and select 'format' dropdown - 'select axis', a screen comes up that allows me to punch in variables for maximum and minimum x values, interval values, ect..
So I punch in 1980 min, 1999 max, interval 1.
THe graph replots the new x axis measures great, but now all my data, the bar graph, is completely gone. Not only that, but my Y axis which used to extend from 1-25 (population in millions), now goes from 0-1!!!
ARGGGG!!!
wtf is going on?
Im using mac excel 98 microsoft.
If anyone could help me out, id be in ur debt.
