So yesterday Kerry's campaign person was quoted as saying that if the Sinclair group goes ahead with its plans to run an anti Kerry documentary on its tv stations they had better hope Kerry doesnt win, or else their would be retribution.

So now Big Brother Kerry doesnt even wait till hes in office before trying to intimidate dissent.

Yeah, dems are the protectors of the first amendment

It would be insanity to vote for this guy.

Insanity.

And I am no Bush fan.

Kerry also says "Idear" is a common New England accent. Much like you put a Y in the middle of the name Chris. You condemn a man for an accent.

Wow.... You go .....

The country is going to hell in a hand basket

The wannabe President of the US is threatening free speech if they say anything negative about him, and Wodin is arguing accents

When Tim Robbins and his wife spoke out against invading Iraq. They were tore a new asshole by everyone and anyone in the media. Everyone on the right since then has practiced attack and boycotting those who do not agree with their point of view. And the party line has been you can practice free speach but don't think that we won't exercise our rights as well.

What part did you not understand Wodin?

Are you really trying to equate someone lambasting someone else for what they said, and the wannabe President threatening to use the federal government to seek revenge on his opponents?

You can't really be that dense

"Earlier in the day, campaign spokesman Chad Clanton had warned, "Listen - they better look out there at Sinclair Broadcasting. ... They've stirred up a lot of hatred. ... I think they're going to regret doing this. They better hope we don't win.""

I actually heard the quote I believe on Fox and Friends in the morning when he was being interviewed

Okay...If I accept Newsmax and Fox as objective reliabel sources you have to accept Air America in the Same vien.

the question is, should sinclair use its media broadcasting influence to push a political agenda?

American law doesn't think so. So kerry threatening to legitimately prosecute them under existing laws is somehow threatening free speech? Maybe with a repub mind filter it is.

I just love how these callers and complainers are using strong arm tactics to threaten these businesses.

Kerry camp can do whatever it wants but when it turns on them they complain. Gotta love America.

It's a direct quote. Accept it or don't as you will

Answer this though. Is it appropriate?

They are airing a documentary on Kerry. Is it only free speech if it is positive? They have a story they think deserves to be aired. At least it doesnt involve false documents like CBS. Truth will come out bor, like it or not

It isn't a legitimate prosecution. It a blatant attempt at intimidation.

actually, it was on live television. not only did i hear the clip, but i saw it as well. this is not some newsmax manufactured story.

and, once again, there is a difference between private companies refusing to air and the government saying what they can and cannot air. one is called a business decision, and the other is called censorship.

only the government can censor.

why shouldn't a private organization be allowed to publish/show/broadcast/air whatever they want?

what law do you speak of? the blatant attack on and raping of the first ammendment, otherwise known as 'Campaign Finance Reform'?

sorry, but when the framers of the constitution were coming up with the first amendment, it was not to protect rappers and pedophiles from publishing whatever they want, their intent was to protect political speech, which john kerry is threatening to trample if he gets elected.

it would be the same thing if bush came out and said he was going to prosecute michael moore and his distributors.

give me a fucking break.

"When Tim Robbins and his wife spoke out against invading Iraq."

i think that has more to do with them being susan serrandon(sp?) and tim robbins rather than their stance on the iraq war.

she does have a nice rack though.

I'd have to see a tape of the show before I believe anything from newsmax. I find that most of the stupid shit you spout is specious and basically misguided ingnorance.

You know 80% of Fox viewers actually believe that there was a direct conection between 9/11 and saddam? Amazing the bullshit you people will buy.
