I got full charges for a DUI even though someone ran a red light and hit me (even in the police report this way)

I have also known 2 guys who have well-known daddys who got one out of a DUI despite running into a police car sitting at a redlight while messed up on pills and very drunk (he didn't even remember anything) and the other out of 4 DUI's.

lol, it's all about who you know combined with abuses of power. Fuck the law.
