get denied for something. mail off for a copy of your report. and get a summarized one with an option to get a more detailed one for $20.

make sure to cancel though after the service is activated though....

that's the whole gimmick in the "free credit report". That and the fact they only give you 1 score instead of 3...as often credit scores can greatly vary from bureau to bureau.
