Found out yesterday my gym is closing.

GOD DAMNIT!!!

I go to Bally's. Been there almost 8 yrs now. I am very comfortable there. Close to work, close to home, and I pay only $12 a month. Come to find out by a slip of the tongue yesterday, that they are closing in 2 months. They have been there for like 20 yrs. Now my friend that works there says it's cause the rent is so high that it's cheaper to close and build a new one???? I don't think they could find a shittier area to begin with, let alone the cost of a new building.

So in 2 months my options will be;
A. drive an extra 20 miles to the next closest Ballys
B. go back to this MEGA club with 2 billion members and a 2 mile walk from the parking lot all for a measly $49 a month along with about $200 down.
C. same as above, but slightly nicer/newer for $65 a month
D. go back to a more "hardcore" gym that I once belonged to for about $30 a month.

I know you're all thinking, no brainer. Go hardcore. Thats probably what I will do. I do however like to take a dip in the pool, or chill in the hot tub after a tough workout. I don't go to the club to stare at women all day either, but it is nice to see some good lookin women in there once in a while. I also loved the natonwide Bally's membership.

same thing happened to me about a month or two ago. had to go to a more hardcore gym (as in i should probably get a tetnus shot some time soon)


on the plus side i have the owners ear so i get to decide what equipment gets stuck in there

Build your own gym in your backyard or garage if you have space available. What I did. Bought weights , benches and a boxing bag. I also do a shitload of pushups to build core strength.
