Forest fires and stopping them

I`m sure this may sound stupid and I`m not the first person to say this. I can`t believe that with all the technology we have in this world, There`s no way we could put out those thousands of acres of fires.

This is my idea, What if they made a HUGE bomb that exploded over the fire that made some kind of gigantic perimeter of chemicals that would put out the fire.

They could strategically drop these huge bombs that would keep exploding in a domino effect with these fire extinguishing chemicals.

Looking at these poor helicopter dudes dropping the water on the fire is like pissing on it. It`s so frustrating.

BOMBS, BOMBS I say. Huge bombs.

no one cares???? I want to save the world.

Here's a potentially completely dumbass idea. They use explosive devices to put out oil fires dont they? The explosion consumes all the oxygen in a given area for a brief period of time and starves out the flames. Since forest fires are such a longterm reoccuring problem shouldnt someone investigate creating some sort of device that could be detonated themonuculear style (in the air) which might suck out all the oxygen and kill the flames.

If I see someone saying "yeah, that sucks, but I knew the risk and I will rebuild", then that doesn't bother me.

But when people act as if they never saw it coming and they are somehow owed something from this, it pisses me off.
Same thing with people that live in hurricane areas, tornado areas, earthquakes, or these fires.

If you are going to live in an area that has known risks for these things, then take those into account and either build for it, or be willing to get out and lose everything - including the possibility of your life and others.

If nature is going to burn like that (which it would have, arson or not), that is what it does. They say that this one is arson, but they have had these nearly every year, arsonists or not.

I think fighting natural disasters is a losing battle.

chaparral forest is meant to regenerate by burning? Many of these houses are on Chapparral right?

I hear that there may be a need for more controlled burning of wispy crispy vegetation...

gonelifting that is a stupid idea.

you see forest fires arent' too much of an issue in unpopulated areas. it's a part of nature and it helps keep the cycle of growth in check.

the problem is when the fires threaten populated areas. so are you going to drop bombs on resort villages and small towns?

Well if the choice is cleaning chemicals from the "bomb" that was dropped to put out the fire or having my house and whole neighborhood burn down to maybe not be able to build again, YES I would like a "bomb" dropped on the whole neighborhood.

rather than have to truck in these bombs, whay not, whenever building a new housing development, have a requirement that a line of these fire retardant type devices has to be burined in the ground around the houses (at a certain safe distance of course)

they would be heat activated. when fire reaches them they would blow up and put out the fire before it got to the houses

Those are good ideas as well. The reason for this thread is I can`t believe there`s no better way than pissing on these fires with helicopters. It does`nt seem to be working.

The "bombs" would be like those Fourth of July fireworks that blow up in a huge ball, Then blow up again and again. I`m sure they could develope something that would emit some chemical in a well distributed fashion to snuff out these fires.

Stop the pissing. lol

Or they could simply not have huge ass trees surrounding their houses as recommended by everyone in these areas...

I know.. I know... That isn't pretty...
Neither is a pile of ashes

no the bomb idea is smart. They have bombs (some military dudes can tell us which) that do nothing than have an empty implosion to suck up all the oxygen in a given area. Without oxygen, the fires would essentially be "blown out"
