Ah - Canada Day. The single day when subdued Canucks show overt
patriotism. Short of scoring a seat sale to the Great White North,
romping with your fellow Moose under the California redwoods is the
next big thing! Bring your sunscreen, walking shoes, lawn chairs,
and blankets.
We're cooking up a full day of games such as BattleBots hockey,
donut boat-racing, and Canuck soccer. And lots of fun for the little
moose with scavenger hunts and relay races! We'll have prizes for
best dressed Canadian and biggest collection of Canadian Tire money!
We'll be tapping the Molson kegs around 1:30pm and breaking out
the Clearly Canadian beverages. Yum! Around 2:45pm, we'll raise
our beer glasses high and toast the Beaver, a truly proud and noble
animal! Then we shall shatter all stereotypes about those "quiet
Canadians" with a rousing chorus of "Oh Canada"!
We'll feast on grilled chicken, Italian sausages, Fireman's chili,
salad, garlic bread, and watermelon, prepared by Firefighters
Barbeque. Hot dogs for moose 12 years and under. Vegetarian burgers
available too (and will be grilled separately from the meat). Wash
it all down with some fine Molson beer and Clearly Canadian thirst
quenchers. At 4:30, we'll draw for spicy, Canadian-themed prizes. At
5:30, we'll wrap up the last joke about our secret soapstone
weapon arsenal and load up our Moose!
It's a bunch of Canadians in the woods! Beauty, eh? Come join us!
