Couldn't find a forum for this specific question. So I figured id put it here. Since its a question for us big guys who use AAS.

I myself am a big guy. Who's just so happen to have a really hard time finding a good bed in which I can sleep on.

I can't find a bed that will suit my needs. They are all either too soft or too hard. If too soft I get massive hip and back pains throughout the night. I wake up miserable!

If too hard I CANNOT fall asleep. And I get HORRIFIC pressure points. My shoulders hurt. My elbows ache. Not to mention my pec muscles hurt like a mofo!

How can I resolve this problem? What kind of bed/mattress should I get?

While not big, I have had problems in the past with spring beds. Have you tried the tempur-pedic beds? They are not cheap but have had mine for 7 years now and my wife and I love it. No sagging springs etc to cause hot spots. Hope you find a solution!

I have bed issues to bro. We just got a pillow top. I cant remember wtf is was for the life of me. But its like pressure adjusting coils inside and then its got a dense pillow top. I was very skeptical and took me a month to get used to but now i love it.
I went from a very comfortable water bed to this and I never thought I would hack it.

Just go to a huge mattress store and try em out. I found the memory foam is great if you lay still but when you try and move its almost like your trapped in the pocket you formed in the foam.

I'm 6'0" 245 BTW,

5'6 205 not very big, but I do get pain at night I got two memory foam matres toppers and it did wonders I sleep like a champ.

This is a great point/idea here ^^^^ and a cheaper way to start solving your problem.

Just get a memory foam pad for the top of your mattress to start with. That way you wont get sunk into 6" of memory foam. You'll have your bed's firmness for support and a nice soft memory foam layer thats a couple inches for contouring your body.

If the memory foam mattress' themselves had a quicker spring back/recovery rate when you rolled on your side or whatever then I likely would have bought one. But you kinda feel trapped.

Waterbeds are the most beneficial beds money can buy = Water is displaced around your pressure points with absolutely no negative pressure, The very reason most burn units in hospitals use them. Also the averaage life of a waterbed is 30 years so they may seem expensive at first but infact they are probably better value than anything else. If you lay on springs, they compress and there is a build up of 'reverse pressure' as the spring is trying to go back to its original shape, again, waterbeds do not have this problem. I love the comfort of memory foam but find the 'full foam' mattress' to be quite hot in the summer

I guess its all personal preferance!

You definatley need a quality waterbed mattress though. We had a very expensive chambered one and it was the shit. Not to mention the shit is heated for when it gets cold outside.
Only reason we had to switch to a regular bed was that we bought a house that was built 160 yrs ago and I didnt wanna chance a near 2000 lb bed on the 2nd floor.

go to bed bath and beyond and invest in a temperpedic mattress topper for like under 200. then invest in some decent pillows.. i sleep on the side.. one pillow between my knees, one between my elbows, and one to support my arm on both sides when i flip over.

if you sleep on your back then one pillow under your knees and one on either side to keep you level.

Problem is I move from side to side from side to back and repeat. I don't know what I'm doing in the middle of the night. So if I don't move along with all those pillows (like you do) I'm fucked! Ill wake up in the middle of the night with my entire back broken! And it stays all fucked up all day. I also have very broad shoulders so my shoulders fall asleep so badly.

I just bought me a new latex bed. Its latex pillow top with memory foad bed. But all firm. Firm bed...firm pillow top. Let's hope this shit works. No lie guys...this will be my 4th bed to try out in 4 months!

Damn! Being being a big dude is no joke! Makes sleeping a real bitch! Not to mention a pain in the ass to find "pants" that fit me. My legs are massive. And so is my ass. Lol

I hate the term, but you might be "too big" I understand the need for size and the intense desire to hoist heavy ass weights, but if your quality of life is suffering maybe you should rethink some goals. Just my opinion, but if you're gonna keep going i really suggest the memory foam

I totally agree. But I'm at a point now that even when I stop juicing...I still maintain a large portion of my weight. GH and insulin use got me big. And I maintained most of it because of them two.

^^^ my neck is huge, my traps are huge. and my shoulders are wide.. i am actually shorter than you so i know what you are dealing with and i've had to deal with it for a while now. especially as i've gotten bigger.

i was laughing about this with my gf the other day.. my neck is like 3X wider than hers. if what you said is true about that you move around a lot then i would say you are pretty fucked because what can happen is you will run into mechanical problems where your neck and traps lock up. or if you get a pinched nerve or a disk issue it can be amplified. i recommend finding a GOOD acupuncturist and going there every week or two. it will really help get the blood flowing through that area. also i STRONGLY recommend you do yoga and especially bikram hot yoga to keep those muscles loose. DO NOT get massages done, they will only make you lock up more, most massage therapists are not trained to deal with lifters.. remember they are trained to massage muscle, but your problem is mechanical

doing yoga poses before bed will help greatly. especially downward facing dog and cobra pose.
