ZenMachine...logic does play into the argument. The problem is that no matter how short the distance between point A to B to C to D and so on, if it is an infinite number of points that have to be crossed, you will never cross them. This is of course not exactly true, but if I tell you that you need to cross infinity inches to reach the target, you will never get there. If you need to cross infinity millimeters you also will never get there. The fallacy was never truly solved until the berth of calculus, but there are arguments against it that do make sense. The core of the problem here is that no matter how far away an infinite number of points are from one another, the fact remains that there is still on infinite number of points and how could you ever pass over an infinite number of points. There are a couple of noncalculus based ways around this problem. Calculus states that you can sum up an infinite series of numbers...like I was saying: measure the area under an asymptote. Take physics: d=vt...d/v=t...zeno kind of divides one half of the equation by infinity, but doesn't really divide time by infinity. Quantum physics talks about whether or not time can be divided ad infinitum and I haven't taken it yet, but I think the answer is still not really known. And yes, what you said makes logical sense in a way...at a certain time, the area between the points will be so small that the area will be infinitely small, but the only true answer is derived from calculus.
Warik...I feel you on that, but keep in mind that these dudes lived a really long time ago. People didn't really know shit about math or science and at the time, what they were saying was kind of important. No one really had practical skills when these guys were around and they were questioning shit. I feel you though, they are a little full of shit in today's world.
I used to lift at Bally's on 107th and Kendall Dr. There were so many fine hoes in there. Do you go to FIU...I know a lot of heads from the Kendall area, but more Northeast Kendall. My roommate out here in Tampa graduated from Sunset, he's from SW Kendall, but a lot of my boys live more in the Dadeland area. I also used to lift at the Zone Gym in the gables or out on Coral Way, or at Ironworks in the beach. Ironworks was full of gays though, but there were some pretty serious lifters in there, moreso than Ballys, but I knew the Manager and got to lift for free. Same at the Zone..friends with the owner's son.
Alright fellas..I'll get at you if I think of some more probs
