what are you selling?

its easy they hire anyone that's hungry

if you don't know how to sell they will teach you

you can start out as a fronter.....they pay you like 4% of whatever they raise from your paper

i should have an 82,000 dollar deal closing tomorrow

travel packages....basically potential clients are bribed by telemarketers to come to our offices and watch a presentation on what our company offers. then it is my job to sit with these people (usually couples) and tailor-fit them a travel package. problem is most people are coming in for their free gift and i have to get them to put down or finance at minimum 7 grand for a package. last job was aggressive sales selling cellphone plans. i was number one in the company at that job 5 months in a row, number one 9 of the 13 months there. now i come to this job and it aint so easy lol.

It honestly sounds like kind of a tough sell, though clearly these are viable clients if they have put up with a telemarket (who doesn't hate telemarkets) and come all the way down to your office for a free gift, I'd consider these pretty warm ups.

Dude, start looking for a new job. Find a sales job where you don't have to bribe people to come in. lol

I agree, especially if you're having a hard time selling, haven't made very many sells.

if you're not getting paid, it's not worth your time.

agreed.

I sell to the IT system that stockbrokers use tp place their trades on.

This is a tough sale - the sales sycle is usually upwars on 1 year, but when a brokerage finally buys, wow....

lol, shit yeah, I bet that's a big fucking pay day ^ ^.

true - but keep in mind that most stockbrokers are young punks that thinks the world owes them something, so its worth it.

i don't think you have learned all there is to know about selling in just 2 years. there are alot of good books on selling. there is always something new you can learn. does that company offer specific training. how about seminars and audio/video tapes?

how about you find the guy who is number one in that line of business and find out how he does it and do it yourself? it usually helps alot to believe in what you sell too. if you think it's tough to sell whatever you are selling then that might be a mental block too. how were you #1 in sales in your last job?

Ziglar told me to tell the people that they will either be buying the Kirby or I will be shoving it down their fucking throat. It didnt work.

Bro...when you are selling a service or a product for the most part prices and products are simaler...you must sell yourself along with the product or service try to get to know the customer on a more personal level...find aout about their hobbies, kids ext.....try to make them look forward to talking to you....ask how their kids...how the vacation was...how's the fishing ext...don't be afraid to share some information about your life either...if they see you as a person or a friend....instead of just a salesman...you are ahead of the field...

that is a tough sell...because most the people willing to drive for a free gift don't have that kinda dough to dish out. :worried:
I'm in sales but I sell a product everyone HAS to have (at least in this state) and that's insurance.

Mmm insurance sales another beautiful thing to be selling.

but seriously to the guy who posted this thread, the most important thing is you need to believe in what you're selling, and that it's worth what you're selling it for, if you don't believe in it yourself, no one is going to believe in it when you're trying to sell it to them.

build value in this product for yourself if you haven't already, that way it will be easier to build the value for the costumer, and the best advice was already given, about not being a salesman and being a friend, and a person etc etc.

This is correct. At my last salesjob, my coworker would spend most of her time talking about her kids and their kids. It almost made me sick, how well it worked for her.

recurring services..

If i can find someone who isn't afraid to talk to someone.. i can teach them to sell.. easiest sell is in the home..

sell money, that's the easiest, and most lucrative.. for me anyway..

someone else does the work, i talk to people.. easy sneezy..
