I just found out about this shit a little while ago. Did you know that you can hack your dvd player? All DVD players come with the ability to play back VCD format but it's hidden and they don't come with this option enabled because they would have to pay royalties to movie companies. They also come with region protection meaning that you can't play a japanese movie on your shit because sometimes japanese dvds come out early and they don't want you seeing the movies before they come out. This can be hacked out as well.
Find out what model dvd player you have and go to this site:

You basically just hit a sequence of buttons on your remote and BAM, you got VCD capablity. What does this mean? You can go download movies off the internet from Morpheus or Aimster or wherever you get your shit and convert them over to mpeg and burn that shit to cd and throw it in your dvd player. now you are watching jurassic park 3 or whatever movie just came out at home.

Slickdadd the quality varies...you will get some shitty ones and you will get some pretty good ones. It's all in the name of getting free stuff because you have a decent grasp of technology.

see it's not about whether or not the quality is top notch or the sound kicks ass...it's the fact that you are sitting there at home watching these movies that are out in the damn theater. people are paying $8 for a ticket and then another $12 on food and whatnot while you are at home watching it for free. hell invite your friends over to come watch it with you. it's the principle of burning movies as opposed to whether or not it's spectacular quality.
