Footsies and work

My office mate (we'll call him builder guy) is currently teasing me that I walk around the office barefoot.

Does anyone else do this or am I a freak after all? (don't answer that last part)

If it's carpet, I love to go barefoot. Normally, if I am over at a friend's, I always kick off my shoes. I would have done the same at the office except we didn't have carpet.

Nothing wrong with going barefoot around the office. I do that sometimes myself. Last month, I was at a big committee meeting and took off my shoes, and ran around the conference table conducting business in my socks.

Comfort baby, comfort.

well, firstly, we can only hope youre a freak ;) ; and,

yep im a barefoot warrior. i used to work construction barefoot. matter of fact i was tiling yesterday in that state lol. it was a bad move; i have tile glue stuck to the soles of my feet. they look terrible, im sliding my feet aong the ground so that the soles dont peek up and people see them ;)

Where do you guys work that this is even an option:)

People who have a crap job can do anything, and people who have an awesome job can do anything. in between you have to conform.

Not at work. My feet don't come with steel toes, and I need them at work. :(

At home I wear slippers/bedroom shoes/moccasins, whatever you want to call them. :D

wtf. i couldn't ever imagine someone going barefoot in the office. what kind of job is this?

Well, I share the floor of a building with a builder and my office is at the very end of one side, it's about 18 x 22 and I have two desks (one to work on and one to pile samples on) and a drafting table. It's carpeted and it's just me in there with no pass through traffic.

My builder office mate always sneaks into my space to use my color copier and he'll see my bare feet at times and he say "you're worse than my kids."

When I have to trek through his side of the building (to use the loo) I eithe r slip my flip flops on or my shoes.

It's just comfortable to work this way and I like the feel of the carpet and the steel of the drafting table under my toes.

:worried:

Well I can understand it in your own office. I thought you were strolling around some big office barefoot, past other peoples desks and stuff.

Oh, no.
Sorry for the confusion.

I hate being constricted... I am barefoot whenever possible.

Actually if they would let me, I wouldn't even bother showing up in clothes to a job...just a little fanny pack to hold my keys, cell phone and other essentials.

I hate being barefoot unless i'm on carpet.

It's weird, because I have no problem being barefoot outside, but I won't go barefoot in a hotel if I can avoid it. Something just nasty about hotel rooms. Must have watched too many "you won't believe this" reports

Yah that is nasty.
I remember traveling with my parents growing up and my father used to shower in flips flops or worse buy a small bottle of bleach and soak the tub floor before we were allowed to use it.

it's no wonder I'm insane

If you pour bleach in the grass outside you can watch the dying worms crawl up the the surface.

Just a little tidbit from my childhood...

wow. Reason# 450,674B to not let your children become Texas A&M Aggies.

hook em horns!

barefoot is cool in the grass if the grass is good, barefoot is good at home, but I have to admit in some hotels/motels I wear like little shower flip flops to keep my feet of the tub! :lmao:

Not the Caesar's Palace or anything, but the ocassional Holiday Inn or Motel 6 or something. If the tub has a hint of dirt or mildew or anything out of the norm, out osme my shower sandals. I hate dirty feet.

Pretty feet welcome to barefoot around me, all de time.

Inside my home... barefoot on hardwood or carpet, outside my home... sneakers or shoes.

I think that`s cool if you go barefoot and can be comfortable in your work environment. I used to work construction and wore workboots all day at work.

.

I was just talking about this with some coworkers on the way back from lunch. We're required to wear business attire (dress every day like you were going to a job interview!) and I saw one of the receptionists wearing flip-flops.

I don't care if people want to wear flip-flops, but it looks tacky as hell at the office, and apparently several people have complained about the attire of the receptionists.

I have boots an old pair of danskos in my trunk for construction sites that I get to play at since I hate to ruin my shoes.

Velvett,

Those lips are Jolie's right? Cause if they are yours let me retract every unkind word I have ever said to you

LOL

Yes those are hers from the TAKING LIVES movie poster.
My lips are in my profile, however, somewhat smaller.
Insano has a good shot of my mouth, somewhere.

Damn, I really have to start looking at peoples profiles. Unless the top half of your face was involved in an industrial accident, you must be stunning.

You look like you have lips to matche hers from the pic of you

I think there is a difference between working in what is essentially a studio and working in the public eye (or with clients). Beach attire and/or nudity is not appropriate in the workplace (unless you're a stripper/dancer, etc).

Oh yeah, totally agree.

It was just an odd tangent...something about seeing flip-flops in what is supposed to be a professional environment that bothered me.

I love to walk barefoot ..... for women it's ok to as long as they have pretty feet otherwise cover them up :)
