Folic Acid

Well I know that some juice might elevate levels of an amino acid called homocysteine (directly related to heart disease). Taking 800mg ED usually brings levels back down.
 
It is one of the b vit's, usually a good b comp will have it. Shoot for about 400 mcg/day. It is crucial to cell health, including your erythrocytes (red blood cells). Also, I am sure you know it is essential for pregnant women, it will help prevent any neural tube defects, supposedly it helps in the development of the myelin sheaths around nerves.

Oh yeah....

chillydog was also right, it has been shown to help reduce blood levels of homocysteine, an amino acid linked to heart disease. Taking folic acid, b-6(pyridoxine), and b-12( cobalamin), have shown to reduce levels.
