flyers in diff way

I've talked to several guys, that do flyers in a diff way to hit the upperchest more. They lean with the back up against an wail and do the flyers that way. To me it seems that they would hit the shoulders more than the chest with this excercise.....am i wrong ?
 
No, you're right! Doing flyes that is completely pointless because you're limiting the weight to what your shoulders can handle.. also you can't utilize your chest muscles very much , if at all.

Thinking about though, that would be like doing negatives on a lateral raise.. holding that weight up.
