Floor Glute-Ham Raise

Never done this before but it looks good

anyone ?
 
I don't know how to do floor glute-ham, but I know another jimmied version. Take a flat bench, face it horizontally to a Smith press, set the bar on the Smith press to wear there is enough room between the bar and the bench you to put your feet in. Then, secure your ankles under the bar and rest your knee/lower thighs on the flat bench. From this position you can perform some bastard glute-ham raises. :chomp:

as for the Floor Glute-Ham Raise, just use a BB with enough plates to keep the bar from moving.
Secure your ankles under the BB
Your knees on the floor
Laying on the floor, push w/ the arms at the beginning if you're not strong enough to do the raise unassisted.
To lift up, contract your hamstrings and glutes as hard as possible.
 
The floor version sounds similar to the one I described. Does it hurt your knees because of their constant connection to the ground during the motion? :chomp:

As I said previously I've not tried it yet
but you can use a rubber mat under your kness :)

They are an extremely difficult exercise to do, even harder if you use a proper GHR machine. Don't be surprised if you can't get one.
