Flaxseed Oil.....Bleeeeeeeech!!

A buddy of mine just ate the seeds. What I'm wondering is if you get the same concetration of oil. My thought is that you'd have to eat a shitload of seeds to get the same amount of oil in 1tbsp.
 
if you just eat the seeds without grinding them they will go undigested ,you have to grind them
the oil only has 40% of what the seed contains(nutrients)
grind 2tbsp daily of the seeds ,grind enough for that one serving
only cause they go rancid fast.
 
Here's what you do. Take a cup of water, 2 scoups of no/low-carb protien powder, and a dash of Crystal Lite. Mix all that together and slam it. Tastes ok, and it's a great way to get 300-500 calories on a keto diet.

I tried taking flax with some water as a chaser. I barfed all over the kitchen. lol Lesson learned. :)
 
I found a good meathod for taking my flax. Take the TBsp then immediatly take a shot of whipped cream (very low carbs). It will kill the taste of the flax in your mouth.
 
Whatever you do don't use flax as the "oil" and vinegar in a salad. Yuck! You'll end up throwing out the salad.

Udo's Ultimate Oil Blend is exactly that. It's a blend of flax,sesame, sunflower,and evening primrose oil. It's also got some oils from rice and oat germ. I find it has a better EFA ratio than that of regular flax. I throw one tablespoon in each of my shakes during the day, can't taste it at all.
It kinda has a nutty taste so it's pretty good as a salad dressing too. Or sometimes if I make a pasta salad, I just throw a couple of tablespoons in there with a bunch of herbs and garlic.
