Flax Seed Taste!!!!

Does anyone know how to hide the tate of Flax Seed Oil in a protein shake, Just the smell alone is making me sick!!!

I've been using so many brands before I found THE ONE: chocolate optimum! I take three shakes a day so the taste is very important for me!

The flax oil I use is Udo's oil.

George, I didn't know there was a difference of taste between brands... But yes, I make sure it's still fresh, I don't keep it for to long in my refrigerator...

In general, how long DOES flax oil last before you have to throw it out?

I've had mine about 2 months now and it still tastes as it did when I first got it. Keep it in the fridge once opened!

Agreed.. Fridge it and how long it lasts depends on how long it sat in a warehouse before you bought it.
If it tastes bad, It's probably BAD...
Buy it in smaller bottles unless you are gulping a lot of it per day...

Fresh flaxseed oil should have a faint nutty taste, and hardly any smell at all. If it smells or tastes strong or bitter, it's probably gone rancid, so throw it out.

Flaxseed oil should be refridgerated. By it in a small enough bottle so you use it up in about 2 months. Just like with milk, I always do a sniff test before taking it

actually I have used mass quatities flax and was very satisfied... barlean's is grossing me out lately.

Mix it 50-50 with Olive Oil for the same benefit, with taste that's easier to get down.

I use Udo's Choice Perfected Oil Blend, It contains flax oil as well as a few others (dunflower seed, sesame seed) and provides a proper balance of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids...

In all seriousness, a tablespoon or two of MQ Flax Oil (Refrigerated after breaking the seal, and shaken to distribute lignans) added to a triple threat 3/60 protien shake (vanilla OR choc) has been my regimen for the last year or so... I do my shakes with skim milk, 2 heaping scoops of powder, 1-2 tbsp of flax oil, 1 banana, and a couple of ice cubes. It cannot be beat and I've drank 2-3 a day for almost a year now. It has become part of the 6 meal a day routine Good for bulking OR cutting.

I just take it in the capsule form, and I don't taste anything. The only problem is you have to take more capsules to equal the amount of one teaspoon of the liquid flax oil.
