I just made my second shake with flax seeds. The first one, I put the whole flax seeds in and used a hand blender. It din't grind up the seeds. So this time I put them in a coffee grinder first and it worked great.
So here's the recipe:
2 scoops plain whey protein conc.
2 TBs ground up Flax seeds
1 Tsp Natty PB, smooth of course
Enough skim milk to mix it up.
It tastes fine. Not gourmet but it doesn't make you gag. PB is the dominant taste.
This is what I will be waking up to for a while. Previously I just used 2 teaspoons of PB.
I think this is about right to replace the oil from the PB, but I would like to check. Does anyone know the nutritional info for flax seeds, specifically how they compare to PB as far as fat content by Volume?
