Are you serious??? I just bought some caps of Flax Seed Oil..

I'm sorry, but drinking that stuff is NASTY!!!

I guess it's back to trying not to  in the kitchen sink.

hmm...so you're saying the caps don't do much? wouldn't it be better to take them than nothing at all though? my reason for taking them are mainly for their convenience (and yes to avoid the taste):worried: also would they sell normal flax oil in grocery stores and such or do i have to order them online or in specialty stores? would you recommend any other supps in cap form that would give me similar benefits as those w/ flax? thanks so much

Hey Jenny27

I believe "NYMuscle" said this brand of Flax is good and tastes pretty decent.
It is cinnamon flavored flax seed oil by Spectrum Essentials.

I hope this helps,

VINEGARETTE!!!!! Trust me, mix PLENTY of balsamic vinegar with it (a high-quality vinegar, makes a big diff) & mix it up in your salad. You won't really taste it. Add some fresh ground pepper & maybe other seasonings to the salad & you really won't taste much - you'll only be aware of some oily texture on your veggies.

I absolutely positively could NOT do the shot thing.

As for where to get Udo's - I get it at Fresh Fields - a chain of organic grocery stores in the D.C. area. They carry organic, fresh pressed flaxseed oil as well. Yes, refrigerated.

Make sure that you don't cook with it - it breaks it down & ruins it.

Even when you keep it in the fridge, it can go bad after a few months. It'll smell rancid & mine also took on a goopy texture when I mixed it with my vinegar.

This is true for any oil.
Get out! :eek2: Damn, I never heard that before. Huh? I have a ton of recipes that call for cooking with olive oil.

Actually I thought it was eating lots of olive oil, including cooking with it, that contributes to the lower incidence of heart disease in the meditteranean.

I use Perfect Balance oil (some dutch udo-mix copycat) and i take 4 table spoons a day of it , that's why I take the cheaper stuff, because Udo's is a bit expensive.....

I started out with 1 table spoon a day, but when i upped it to 2 i began to see and feel results after one month. I think 2 spoons a day is perfect for most people. However I train high volume and eat relatively low fat food, so I need all the good oils I can get...
