Flax and Cooking?????

Can you use Flax oil for cooking? I was thinking of adding it to a few dishes I make, but was wondering if cooking with it will destroy its' benefical effects, or FFA's? Can anyone comment on this? Thanks

Flax oil has a very low smoke point. Omega 3's are very fragile and do not hold up well under heat.

Another good oil to cook with, quite possibly the best is coconut oil.

I will never forget asking the idiot at the local meathead store for a bottle of flax oil. He points me to a $20 bottle of flax capsules...I tell him I want a bottle of flax.

He looks at me like I am from Mars and says, "Why? Are you going to cook with it?"

Needless to say, I buy my flax online now, 12 oz for $8.
