The reason is to look for blood. Blood means you are in a vein, and if you inject in a vein, get ready for a ride, lol. 
Remember, you want IM (intramuscular), not IV (intravenous).

Txlonghorn,what do you mean get ready for a ride?What effects would hitting a vein cause?I realize that we are shooting for IM injections but i have never once pulled back the plunger to check.I am just now winding down my second cycle-ref b/400mg deca/500mg sust per wk injecting 4 times per week and the only bad effects I have had was a huge gusher yesterday.Made me wonder if i could somehow fuck myself up by not checking.
If you inject into a vein then you may get rapid changes in body temperature, racing heart rate, incresed sweating, dizzyness and may possably pass out. I have gone through a vein with no problems but have not injected directly into one(Knock on wood
