Flash Drive, Zero Footprint Browser

I'd like to be able to carry my flash drive with me, and be able to use it to access the internet from work, or another computer at a friend's house, or something like that, but I don't want to leave anything behind on that other computer. I know there are "zero footprint browsers" that I can buy and load onto my flash drive, but I'd like to hear from someone that's done this first. Mostly I want to insure that my e-mail communications and my financial transactions aren't going to end up on my company's server.
