Fish Oil for weight loss?

My girlfriend just said one of her friends read an article that said if she takes 5-7 fishoil a day, basically 2x the recommended dose, with some exercising you can lose 7-12lbs a week...

whats this all about?? Any truth to it? How unhealthy??
 
The best way to lose fat is your diet. Fish Oil can help supplement you and get you there a little quicker but it will not be a major contributor to weight loss.

By the way, most BBers take between 10-12 fish oil pills a day. There's no health risks at all.
 
Rikishi is right. I would say Fish oil has little to no effect on fat loss.
However, its one of the healthiest fats you can consume.
Up there with olive oil, CLA, Flax, and Grapeseed.
