HELP

I was under 275lbs for flat barbell bench and then my left pec went........@SNAP!.......rrrriippp!!!!!!!!!

###@#@#@# F U C K $#@#@#@#@#@#

Just got back from the ER, not much help from the doc. All he said was icepacks and tylenol 3. Give it a few days and go see family doc to start the recovery phase, including physio-therapy.

What has everyone else done for torn muscles and how long did it take to recover fully??????

What do I do?

Is there any AS i can take to speed up the process??

any help would be appreciated.

Tore my left pec doing a set of 255 for about 6 when I was 17, I thought that it usually hapaned on max outs, but anyways, as I remember I started benching between 4 and 6 weeks later, and when I started football that season, after about 6 weeks of benching again I was as strong as ever! You will be fine, just rest, work on you legs and other areas, run a lot, just don't worry. I have a broken wrist right now and it's frustating, but there is nothing you can do, so look at this as an opprutunity to work on laging areas. Good Luck Bro!

Sorry to hear of your injury. Several years back when I was playing football, I tore my right groin muscle. OUCH!!! It took several months to recover 100%, cause I kept playing w/ it!. The lucky thing was, I was able to tape and wrap my leg in stretch tape and wrap w/ ace and it acted like a "spring" instead of using my groin muscle when I ran/walked! LOTS of PT and patients.

For your pec thou, rest and light therapy. Maybe see a PT for treatment and you should be able to start light lifting in a couple months. Good luck bro!

my brothas and i were working out here at the gym and one of them (idiot) thought that he can do anything on dbol... his muscles weren't ready for that kind of load (375), before cycles he was only able to do 335. Chest-to-arm muscle snapped, and I REALLY mean SNAPPED... It was pathetic... It happened two months ago... He still cannot bench more than 225. He was embarassed so bad that he had to change the gym... He doesn't workout with us anymore... His f..king shoulder still has BLUE and yellow in it... two months...
Don't overload yourself... take it easy...
In Russia we have a saying:
Smart people learn from someone else's mistakes, dumb ones learn from their own...
I guess that's just the way it goes... That is why I read this board and never get tired to learn...

It didn't fully sepparate, but it is a little swollen today, and it hurts when I move it.

Wow.... then some of the most sucessful people I know must be dumb because they have learned from their mistakes and have grown into amazing people.

In the US we have a saying:

Everyone makes mistakes. When you do, learn from it, and be sure to never do it again.

Had my first weight lifting injury ever 4 months ago. I was doing skull crushers with about 95% max. First rep, second, felt strong ,
3 reps, slowly down to spoters hands. As he took it away and I let go POP! Felt like an electric jolt or someone dropping a dumbell
on my rt tricept. No pain but it swelled immediatelyaround the elbow. Could still move it so I know it hadnt seperated from the joint. Xray confirmed a nonseperation tear. Next few days a big black pool of blood ran along my underforearm. For 3 weeks I only did legs, while still making normal as possible use of my rt arm. Week 4 I tested all my exercises and used the one which worked but least stressed the muscle. Today it feels good as ever except for a few reminder sorenesses to keep me straight.
Never needed any pain killers. Go figure.
